The MobiDataLab’s living labs play a crucial role in advancing the field of data management and analysis. They have been designed with two primary goals in mind. Firstly, to provide an in-depth evaluation of the data-sharing culture, both qualitatively and quantitatively. This allows for a comprehensive understanding of the current state of data sharing, the challenges and opportunities associated with it, and how it can be improved in the future.
The second goal of the living labs is to generate new tools, technologies, and insights that can help further advance the field of data management and analysis. Through the utilisation of MobiDataLab’s tools and data, researchers and developers are able to gain new perspectives, test innovative ideas, and create new solutions that can have a positive impact on the field.
To do so, the MobiDataLab team is preparing 3 events that aim to demonstrate the potential uses of shared Mobility data other than their original purpose – which is an input into the measurement of the data-sharing culture. The three events include the Datathon – which will invite participants to retrieve and utilise the data stored in MobiDataLab’s cloud with the goal to find new usages for the data and additional insights from using them, especially in fusion with other datasets -, followed by a Hackathon – aiming to generate usable technology based on the data and tools of the MobiDatalab cloud – and finally, a Codagon – where participants can utilise and validate the full range of MobiDataLab’s technological artefacts’ functionalities through a three-week long event.
With a holistic approach, this webinar aims to introduce to future participants the MobiDataLab Living and Virtual Lab, giving an overview of the three events’ timeline, objectives and scope, that will take place during 2023.
